How much is too much snow?
All my winter flights so far have been on frozen lakes or minimal snow covered fields (3-5"). Now we have 2+ feet here in Minnesota. Added a sheet of foam under each ski, and was able to take off if it was placed in the snow at a slight upward angle. And other times it would eventually nose dive into the snow after a couple feet. Upon landing, if I slowed down at all there was little chance of taking off again.
The other challenge when flying fpv is depth perception. A super smooth snow surface just looks like a blanket of white. Am I landing, or 10 feet high?
On the good note, crash landings are much more forgiving.
